About the organization

Health is more than the absence of illness.

BecomingHealthyHer redefines health as something women actively shape — with the skills, tools, and voice to advocate for themselves in every room.

Our mission

To empower women through the three P's — Prepare, Present, and Prevent — enhancing health communication and well-being with tangible tools, so women can take proactive, confident control of their health.

Our vision

A world where women and girls have empowered voices in every discussion about their health — equipped to advocate continuously, in a future where every woman's well-being is prioritized and respected.

The throughline

The 3 P's grow out of a multi-focus-group study of Black women's health, spanning generations.

The 3 P's were established after listening to a multigenerational focus group study on Black women's health.

Becoming HealthyHer incorporates rigorous research into practical, accessible tools that enhance health professional training, while equipping Black women to feel empowered and become active participants in their health and wellness journeys.

Dr. Breana Turner understands that Black women deserve culturally rooted tools to assist them in taking control of their health.
